A new academy or a new kind of academy?

Published on May 22, 2025

In a few days, the activities of Aeroitalia Aviation Academy will begin, with the aim of recreating the center of excellence in training that was once represented by Alitalia’s Flight Academy. Unfortunately, that reality was destroyed by those who had neither the interest nor the ability to preserve the invaluable know-how accumulated over decades of training experience.

Personally, I attended the Alitalia course many years ago, and the preparation I received was first-class—so much so that many of the concepts I learned during that crucial period of initial training have accompanied me throughout my forty-year career.

The approach of this Academy is to train professionals whose guiding star is the pursuit of excellence—something that, in our field, is not an added bonus, but the bare minimum required to ensure the safety, profitability, and comfort of our passengers.

Given that this is the philosophy guiding all of the Academy’s activities, it goes without saying that the instructors we recruit must also be of the highest caliber, having accumulated top-level professional and academic experience.

As can be seen from the information scattered throughout our website, this training center aims to be a point of reference not only for pilot training, but also for cabin crew and maintenance technicians. There are also several ancillary services on offer, such as the "Joy of Flying" course, which helps passengers who are still fearful of flying to approach this wonderful world by leaving all their worries behind.

Aeroitalia Aviation Academy will be officially presented on May 29, 2025, at 3:30 PM, during the conference "Training in High-Risk Systems," which will be held in the Sala della Lupa at Parliament. This spectacular setting will serve as the backdrop for a conference we consider fundamental to reversing the course set over the past two decades, which has led to a substantial de-professionalization of the pilot’s role—with all the consequences we are witnessing.

Stay tuned!
