Airline Captain with over 12,200 flight hours, supervisory pilot, CRM/Human Factors instructor, and LOSA auditor, Gerardo De Maria is a prominent figure in the field of safety, training, and quality in international air transport. Currently a B777 Captain and Senior Auditor for EVA AIR in Taiwan, he has played key roles in European and international projects as a project manager, technical consultant, and academic lecturer, combining expertise in aeronautics, engineering, and management.
He holds a degree in Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering from "La Sapienza" University in Rome and an MBA with honors in Innovation Leadership & Consulting obtained in the United Kingdom. He has solid experience in compliance, pilot training (TRI/SFI on A320), and neuroergonomics applied to aviation.
He is the founder and Subject Matter Expert (SME) of AVILAB Thailand, an active member of the STASA research center, and a frequent speaker at academic and aeronautical conferences.
